Our Daily Routine & Program

We believe that routine plays an essential part in your child’s development and security. That’s why every class follows the same basic daily structure. While it’s not fixed down to the minute, an established routine helps your child feel secure and happy in an environment where they know what’s coming next.

Through weekly themes, our teachers introduce new concepts, vocabulary, pre-reading skills and general knowledge, as well as help your children develop gross motor, social and cognitive skills, along with encouraging their emotional development.

6.30am – 8am: Arrival

8am: Breakfast

8.30am: Morning ring and session 1

We introduce the theme of the week, listen to any news from children, and learn things like how to greet each other, the days of the week and the weather.

This is followed by a variety of gross and fine motor activities which are changed up each day to aid in the development of all spheres of a little one’s growth.

9.15am: Toilet routine, sunblock, morning snack

9.30am: Outside Play

There are two periods of outside time every day, which are hugely important for learning to socialise and play, and exercise their large muscles as they climb the fantastic jungle gym, play in the sand pits and ride bikes.

10.30am: Session 2

Creative and sensory sessions where children are exposed to different mediums and immerse themselves into a variety of crafts each week.

11.30am: Lunch

12pm: Rest time

For the older groups, the kiddies enjoy inside play at the end of the day (while the younger groups nap). This involves fantasy play and important socialisation time with their classmates after a 45 minute rest period.

13.45pm: Wake up and afternoon snack time

2pm onwards: Outside play and organised games

School Snacks

Kiddies at Everwood are given a healthy, wholesome breakfast and lunch. Snacks are to be provided from home and we encourage these to be on the healthy side, with Fridays being our days for a little treat. Bottles should preferably be filled with water which will be re-filled throughout the day to keep kiddies hydrated.

Remember, children run around all day and snacks help maintain their blood sugar levels. The amount of snacks you send is dependent on your child. Not everyone eats the same amount, but please keep in mind if you collect later in the day, to ensure that you send enough for your little one.
